Moien, I'm Teodora
Learn Luxembourgish with a multilingual tutor who understands how languages work from the inside.
I help expats, professionals and future Luxembourg citizens build confident spoken Luxembourgish through structured, personal 60 or 90-minute lessons that give you real time to speak.
Fluent in Luxembourgish, German, French, English and Bulgarian, and conversational in Russian, I explain grammar clearly, connect languages logically and adapt each lesson to your native language, your goals and your pace.

Lessons adapted to your native language and learning style
Real conversations for daily life, work and administration
Clear preparation for oral confidence and Sproochentest goals
A premium language tutor
Learning Luxembourgish is rarely just about vocabulary. For many learners, it is connected to integration, work, family life, administration and citizenship. That is why my lessons combine linguistic precision with real life practice.
You will not only memorise phrases. You will understand how Luxembourgish relates to German, where pronunciation differs, how everyday speech works, and how to move from passive knowledge to confident speaking.
Meet your tutor
I am Teodora Todorova, a linguist with a PhD in linguistics and a certified Luxembourgish teacher accredited by the Luxembourg Ministry of Education. I have taught Luxembourgish and German for many years, and today I teach mainly online, over Zoom.
I hold two master's degrees, one from the University of Trier as a German teacher and one from the University of Luxembourg as a Luxembourgish teacher. As I also speak French, English and Bulgarian, and am conversational in Russian, I can explain each concept from the angle that fits you best.

My goal is not only to help you learn Luxembourgish. My goal is to help you feel at home when you speak it.
TeodoraA structured method built around real speaking
We build on a proven textbook base, so paid time goes to speaking, not to what you can read at home. First the structure of the language, then using it in real speech.
No textbook characters. We build your vocabulary around your real life, your job, your commune, your weekend, so you can use it the very next day.
Every lesson rehearses the real exam: short small talk and a structured picture description. You learn to build a clear story and opinion, not just list objects.
You get personal audio recordings of new words and phrases, pronounced correctly. Listen in the car or before sleep, and the melody of Luxembourgish sticks with no extra effort.
The method is especially effective for adults who want calm, intelligent lessons without school like pressure. Each session is precise, practical and adapted to your learning speed.
For learners who want a personal, flexible and efficient path.
For learners preparing for Luxembourg nationality requirements.
For people who need Luxembourgish for work, clients or colleagues.
Choose the format that fits your goal
Many learners struggle because Luxembourgish is presented as an isolated language. In reality, it becomes easier when it is taught through comparison.
German speakers need to understand where Luxembourgish departs from standard German. English speakers need clear grammar and practical speaking patterns. Russian speakers often need a different route into pronunciation, word order and articles.
This is where a polyglot tutor gives you a real advantage: the lesson can move between languages, explain the same idea in different systems and remove confusion quickly.
The Sproochentest at a glance
The oral exam is a short conversation plus describing a picture. Pass one part and you keep it, then re-sit only the other.
Preparing for the Sproochentest?
The speaking part is not about sounding perfect. It is about answering clearly, naturally and with enough structure. We practise the situations you are most likely to face: introducing yourself, describing images, speaking about everyday life, work, family, hobbies, Luxembourg and future plans.
My students take the Sproochentest every month. After each exam we review it together, see how the test has evolved and which questions came up. That keeps my teaching aligned with the very latest topics and questions, so we prepare you for what the exam actually looks like now.
You will receive honest feedback on your current speaking level and a realistic preparation plan.
What students say
I cannot recommend a more professional, thorough and experienced teacher. She helped me go from zero to ready for the test in no time, with an excellent teaching style and all the right skills to ace the exam.
She adapts every lesson to your needs, corrects your written mistakes and pronunciation, and is flexible with scheduling. The 90-minute lessons are the sweet spot to practise a topic, speak and do picture descriptions, far better than watching videos.
If you want one-to-one courses, take Teodora Todorova. She will help you achieve your goal.
An excellent teacher who will definitely help you.

Good to know
It depends on your starting level and how often you study. From scratch to the Sproochentest usually takes somewhere between six months and two years. After a first lesson I can give you a realistic plan.
I recommend 60 or 90-minute one-to-one lessons. Most students choose 90 minutes, as it lets you work through a whole topic properly in a single lesson, with enough time to warm up, speak and practise picture descriptions in depth.
Yes, lessons are online by video, so you can join from anywhere and keep a flexible schedule.
I speak Luxembourgish, German, French, English, Russian and Bulgarian, so I can explain things in the language that is easiest for you.
